Lou's Full-Serv Neighborhood Kitchen is located in the heart of the Historic Belhaven Neighborhood.  Lou's Full-Serv is a dream come true for Owner/Chef Louis LaRose, a native of Jackson, MS. 

At its core, Lou's Full-Serv is a southern inspired restaurant with a casual, vintage industrial atmosphere. 

We believe that quality ingredients and attentive staff are paramount. Our goal is to prepare each dish with soul and treat every diner as if they were a guest in our home!

The menu at Lou's will embrace dishes, ingredients, and styles from all over, but is southern-rooted at heart.  Lou's Full-Serv prepares all food in-house daily and utilizes as many local purveyors and ingredients as area allowed by the season. 

Lou's will also have a full-service bar and lounge area to relax in while waiting on a hand made cocktail or a dining space to open.

Owner & Executive Chef Louis LaRose

Louis LaRose is a native Jacksonian.  Cooking has always been close to Louis' heart, as he grew up watching his grand mother cook.  During high school, Louis secured a job as a dishwasher at the original POET'S location and quickly learned the ropes of the entire restaurant.  From there, Louis learned quickly and worked at other local restaurants including Mik & Mot's, Sam's Westside, The Brick Oven, and BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar.  After learning the ins-and-outs of these establishments, Louis decided the next step on this great career path was further honing his cooking skills and education. 

Chef Louis decided to attend Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, FL because of its thriving & progressive food scene as well as its melting pot culture and cuisine influenced from the surrounding islands.  Louis worked for Chef Mark Millitello at Mark's Las Olas and also with Chefs Allen Susser and Norman Van Aiken while living in SOuth Florida. 

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Johnson & Wales in 1998, Louis returned to Jackson and re-joined Jeff & Dan at BRAVO!  as a sous chef and soon after was made Chef de Cuisine.  From there he helped Derek Emerson open Local 463 Urban Kitchen as the Chef de Cuisine, and most recently was the Executive Chef at the Mississippi Museum Of Art.  Louis resigned from his position at the museum late last year to begin working on the restaurant that he would soon turn into a reality!
